Employment : Laos

Settled down somewhat here in Luang Prabang. The hotel i'm working in, www.villadeuxrivieres.com, had provided me with temporary accommodation in the hotel until they find a suitable home/office for my sales and marketing division.

The hotel consist of 17 rooms facing the Nam Khan river and is a lovely hotel i must admit. Thus, the reason why I have decided to venture into Luang Prabang.

A few factors i was considering before accepting the position ie the work environment, the surroundings and most importantly my personal instinct. The work environment is informal, which is a great way to work in this day and age. The owners (Dutch) are simply amazing yet professional and considerate. I've met three of the owners and we got along very well. I was also impressed with my General Manager (also a Dutch) who is ever friendly and helpful.

During my last trip to Luang Prabang a few weeks back, i was in awe with the peacefulness and the laid back paced life we all yearn to be in after chasing after our careers in the city. Luang Prabang is an Unesco World Heritage Site thus the old charm is somewhat being retained. I was immediately brought back many years when i rented a bicycle and cycled around town. One can do this in Luang Prabang.

I fell in love with Luang Prabang almost immediately. I felt i found my peace. Thus, a new adventure begins for me.

In this blog, I will post my observations, my thoughts and my findings.
